When autumn arrives, many people have the natural reaction to seek refuge within their homes. I think it's a natural process most northern dwellers live. We're programmed to lock down and hibernate.
Winter doesn't have to be all about staying by the fireplace and drinking some eggnog. Sure, it's enjoyable to stay indoors and watch a movie under a pile of blankets, but variety is key in everything in life and here's an idea to make winter time a unique and fun experience for you and your family.
Outdoor fireplaces are a great way to bring the indoors outside. Why not have a marshmallow roast in the backyard during a light sprinkling of snow? You can turn your backyard into a ski resort with the right accessories. These fireplaces are inexpensive and safe. Place a few logs around the fire and you have the makings for a great evening with friends and family in an atmosphere most wouldn't expect from an urban setting.

One day in the shower, I noticed a little bottle on the soap rack. Intrigued by it, I picked it up and read the label only to find that it was a bottle of high end acne treatment. I personally do not have an acne problem, but I was curious to try it. After a week of using the product in question, I noticed that my skin was smoother and more specifically, less oily. I know that these high quality products are expensive, but I do know that they truly work to improve the appearance of your skin. I use the treatment once or twice a week to really give my face a thorough cleaning. People with acne problems must use the product everyday, however for those of us without an acne problem, using these products improves our skin and removes dirty and impurities that normal soaps cannot remove.

Have you noticed the increase in home renovation shows in the past few years? TV networks are actively pushing "do it yourself" home renovation and flipping shows.
These shows while informative, are definitely trying to do more than just teach you and motivate you to fix up your digs. In fact, television networks use these shows as a vehicle for product placement and branding. From specific brands of paint, to siding and drywall, these shows inform you of the innovative products out there for you to use to make your home a better place to live.
For example, I would much rather see a professional install brand new Kohler fixtures instead of just seeing an ad for it. Involving the product in the show is both logical and effective. Not only do I get to see a professional install a future potential product I may use, I get to see it in action and in the grand scheme of the decor. I won't feel like an idiot shopping at Home Depot if I know what I'm looking for. Great Marketing.

If you are running an online business, you have probably had to ship products to customers. Using services like eBay and Amazon, people like you are making a small fortune selling old items, or items they created themselves. The key to a successful online business is to provide excellent service. Part of this service is obviously the the shipping of your products to your customer. The best way to lose a repeat customer is to send them badly packaged merchandise which can make you seem unprofessional and may actually damage the product itself. Take the time to invest in some inexpensive tools as part of your shipping arsenal. Here is a quick list:
- Packaging tape: Use a strong and large tape. Transparent is better. Avoid electrical tape, Skotch Tape.
- Sturdy boxes: Shoes boxes and cereal boxes scream "UNPROFESSIONAL". Your local shipping center should have a wide array of sizes and quality.
- Box Cutter: There is no question that you will have to work your packaging around your product. We're not always selling books and DVDs. You may need to cut and craft Styrofoam in order to create a shape that will keep your product safe while in transit. This tool is a must and pretty handy around the house generally.
- Labels: Avoid issues in shipment with large clean labels. You can add any relevant information on your label in order to assist the customer or shipper with your product.
Attention to detail is key. Quality products, shipped with attention to detail is a great way to set yourself apart from the competition and ensure maximum repeat customers.

One of the most pressing needs for new webmasters is that of getting their site indexed quickly. An entire business has emerged over the past few years called SEO (search engine optimization). These experts can help you get your site listed in search engines more quickly and for keywords which are relevant to your business.
SEO services can be expensive, however there are things that you can do yourself to get a head start.
Here are some pointers:
• Review and tweak your content. Read your existing content and find ways of putting emphasis on specific sections of text that you want to bring attention to. These would be your keywords. Use HTML attributes to emphasize your keywords and being attention to it.
• Use a directory submission service. These services will submit your site to many top directories in your specific niche. Doing this creates strong back links to your site which makes it easier for search engines to find you. The more reputable a directory, the more likely search engines will rank you higher because you are inheriting credibility.
• Avoid cute titles. Be clear and concise. If your article is about how to repair a 1998 Honda Civic radiator, then you need to have a title that ties in with what a user may actually search (How to Repair 1998 Civic Radiator) for and not something catchy like "Radiator Terminator"
It can take a while for your site to get indexed. Using existing services to shorten that time is a great idea. And as in all things, keep it true and keep it simple. Search engines don’t have heads to scratch when browsing your site.
