ProjectPayDay: Is it a scam?

PDF Print E-mail

A few days ago, I came across a site called ProjectPayDay. At first glance, the site was just like the rest in appearance and sales pitch: "Make Money Online Now" followed by 20 or 30 video testimonials. When I researched them a bit more, I came across many postive reviews from users that stated that they did make money using this system. Naturally, out of curiousity, I signed up.

ProjectPayDay : The General Idea
The basic idea behind ProjectPayDay is that you can make money by completing certain offers for people. These offers are generally those "refer 10 friends and get a free Xbox" kind of offers. People pay you to complete a free offer or sign up for a service under their referral code.

For example: Johnny signs up on GetAFreeXbox360.com. Johnny really wants that free Xbox, but in order to get it, he needs to refer 4 friends to the site so that they can sign up to the site. The catch is that the site may state that for Johnny to get the referral, each of his buddies must sign up for various products and services. These services range in price from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars.

Now I don't know about you, but my friends aren't really into the whole weight-loss or herbal Viagra scene. This is where ProjectPayDay comes in. ProjectPayDay connects people that need referrals with people that want to get paid for making a referral. So let's say Johnny was willing to pay 100$ for his Xbox, he would go on one of the ProjectPayDay forums and post that he is willing to pay 25$ to the first four people that are willing to sign up on the site and complete an offer. Why would anyone pay for herbal Viagra so that Johnny gets his prize? Well, if the herbal Viagra costs 7.95$ and Johnny pays 25$ for a referral, I get 17.05 for signing up on a site and completing an order. Easy money right? Yes it is! Because Johnny is ProjectPayDay pro, as soon as my transaction clears, he transfers 25$ in my PayPal account. End of transaction.

If someone were to spend hours doing this daily, this person could literally earn hundreds of dollars a day. Atleast that's the plan.

My Problem with ProjectPayDay
The program is extremely time consuming. It's a fulltime job. Finding the opportunities isn't hard, but finding the correct products and services that are in the right price range can be tiresome. A lot of the services are not cheap, and some are even recurring meaning that if I do not cancel a subscription to a service I signed up for, I get billed for it again and again. The ProjectPayDay system is perfect for those seeking to micro-manage all the aspects of signing up to service, cancelling services, finding opportunities and making sure you get paid.

Another problem I have with ProjectPayDay is the fact that some of the offers that I must complete to get paid are closed to Canadians such as myself. I probably would have expirimented longer with their system if I wasn't limited to signing up for Disney books on tape every single time. Another peeve of mine is that sometimes I have to complete 2 or 3 offers before I get credit for the referral. This can be difficult if you're trying to keep your own costs low. If we were to use the example above, Johnny pays me 25$ for a referral, but the referral costs me 21$ in sign ups. Not really interesting now is it?

ProjectPayDay Customer Service
Surprisingly, their customer service is outstanding. I had problems activating my account and they were there to help. When I cancelled my account, they immediately contacted me to find out why and issued a credit with no questions asked. Quite frankly, I was pleasantly surprised.

Conclusion
I have no doubts in my mind that this system does work for the people that are willing to work at it fulltime. Odds are, if I really wanted to, I could have stayed on and made atleast 100$ a month just buying weight-loss pills. But the fact of the matter is, that it is not easy to sign up for some offers because I'm Canadian so I was wasting more time than I was making money. Signing up to ProjectPayDay essentially makes you a bottom feader in an eco-system of sales. The real people making the money are those that offer the products and services that you have to sign up for to get someone else a referral. The other people making money are those that pay 100$ for an Xbox 360, that they can resell for three times the price on Ebay. You as a person signing up for offers are getting the crumbs left behind by the top two earners. If those crumbs are worth it, then by all means go for it, otherwise, move on.

Project Payda is not worth the amount of time and energy it takes.

I processed
3 transactions only to find out that the person who was going to pay me for them
was squelched from their system.

This happened 2 times... So I did what was
asked and didn't get paid 2 times... So I figured that was enough.

Getting
refunds on the 6 "introductory offers" was a head-ache too...

In the
end probably not what you're expecting. And certainly not as easy as their
advertising makes it sound.

Best wishes... I hope this is helpful to someone.

thanks so much for the information on project payday. I also thought is sounded
good for the average joe , but now before i buy anything I google it. I have
tried a couple of online businesses and found it to be too much work for
nothing. I got some of my money back on some ventures and some I didn't. I
dont have money to waste any more or time. I won't follow through with Project
Payday.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It really helped me. I had came
across the website and thought that this was the perfect opportunity
to make an extra income for the "average" person, seeing how
many home-based businesses cost alot to get started. Well, when I signed up
and read up on the Training Manual, I found that it was going to be a
time-consuming thing and would probably cost me more money than I
have.

Thanks for letting me know, in detail, about Poject Payday.
I think I'm going to request for my membership refund and move on to
something else.

project payday is really small potatoes, the real money is made when you flip
over and become the person paying you the 25 dollars. When you are on this
level, you get paid from the company and you pay the referral. if I an paying
you 25 dollars and I am making 25 dollars and i have 8 to 10 people filling out
the offers well, i paid out 0 to 0 to 8 to 10 different people but I just
made 0 to 0 in my bank account. yes this is work but then nothing is for
free you have to commit to something. Like I said PP is small the average trader
doing this fulltime makes 00 to 00 easily. there are always new people
joining and new offers daily.

I looked into this as well and found it is not worth the amount of time you have
to put into it. You also need to keep immaculate records of the offers you sign
up for, the termination policies included with each one and the dates in which
you would have to cancel subscriptions by for each one. This may be fun for
someone who is independently wealthy with no friends, no life, and nothing else
to do...

hello

i just want to let everyone know that this to is a scam. In a desperate
need for money i signed up for this work at home opportunity only because it was
free-or so i thought. Unlike most work at home opportunities you do not have to
pay an up front cost you just have to complete one of their offers. Once i did
and became a member i realized that this was the job-to complete offers. the one
true thing is that there are really people paying for you to complete offers
with the stipulation that you go green. Going green means that everything went
through right with the offers if you go red however meaning that something
somehow went wrong you will not get paid. the one problem is to complete one
offer u sometimes have to actually do at least 5. most of them say that it is a
free trial and after so many days if you don't cancel they will charge your
card. on this first i tried to fill out as many offers as i could but everyone...

that i did somehow went red even though i followed all of the instructions
completely for them to go green. the next day i looked at my credit card bill
statement online and i noticed that most of the offers actually charged the
membership fee and not the trial fee. on top of that i NEVER got paid for
filling out any offers b/c the payees told me they went red and there is no way
for you to prove they didn't!!!!

at the end of the day you do PAY to be apart
of project payday i have over hundreds of dollars in charges to my credit card
for filling out offers and still have not been paid a penny........

stay away

I received numerous e-mails from project payday offering a work at home system
where I could earn extra cash. So, like any normal, hardworking, lower class
citizen in need of cash, and against my better judgement, I signed up. I was lead
to believe that it would be applicable to work with this program. Well it is
not. I received so many wordy instructions that it was impossible to follow
through. The emails I received said that there would be step by step
instructions. That was a LIE. I was supposedly assigned two mentors but was told
that if I did not follow the "step by step" instructions, those mentors
will not co-operate with me.Mind you, the instructions are very difficult to
follow. So, I tried to work my way throught this system but found out that I had
to 'come out of pocket and sign up for many different offers, using my credit
card, which of course left me vulnerable to identity. theft. I got discouraged

Yes, I have fallen into the trap myself and I just asked for a refund.

I hope
it all goes smoothly.

I found too that there just wasn't anything worth while
as a Canadian, and the amount of labor you need to put in, the phenomenal use of
credit cards in which the chance of not being paid is a rip off and almost has
an almost gambling type response. Some you win, some you lose.
